We Will Remember Them

Along with the rest of the nation, Forest School came to halt at 11.00 on Friday to mark Remembrance Day.

Pupils gathered to listen to readings and a short biography of just one of the 98 Old Foresters killed in WW1. On Sunday, the Senior Chapel Choir performed two beautiful anthems at the Remembrance Service in Chapel. The first was Never Weather-beaten Sail by Thomas Campion, a contemporary of Shakespeare, the second a lovely setting of Binyon’s words For the Fallen to music by Peter Irving with the famous ‘Last Post’ melody woven poignantly into the music toward the end, beautifully played by Zoë Kundu. Very well done to the Choir who did a sterling job, and to the Cadets of the CCF who drew praise from parents and Old Foresters alike for their impressive, disciplined contribution to this moving event.
