Pre-Prep pupils visit Colchester Zoo

Forest Pre-Prep pupils visited Colchester Zoo on Tuesday 13 June.

During the trip, which was inspired by the ‘nature’ theme of their most recent topic, the pupils got the chance to explore the zoo and learn more about the animals.

The pupils also got the chance to take part in activities led by Colchester Zoo staff, where they learned more about how the keepers look after the animals. A few of the brave pupils even got the chance to hold a giant snail.

Speaking about the visit, Reception form tutor Mrs Kendall said: ‘It was a great day and we were blessed with beautiful sunny weather. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed walking around the zoo and learning more about the animals and where they come from.’

‘I liked seeing the penguins because it was fun to see them dive in the water,’ Pre-Prep pupil Aarushi said, while Hamza added ‘The monkeys were funny swinging around and showing off. I think they were doing tricks.’
