Forest in Action events in Michaelmas term 2023

From litter picking to dragon boat racing…Forest in Action for Michaelmas term has been a jampacked time full of exciting activities and events. Here are some highlights!

First off, congratulations to our team of Year 11’s, who scored the highest ever score in the Forensic Science Pandemic challenge. They have beaten schools across the country…and University students. We are so proud of all of them – the whole group did an amazing job!

Next, as part of Forest in Action – one of the activities also involved our pupils helping out with litter picking to…

going on trips, from visiting the Holywell recording studio,

a fashion insider trip,

to taking part in the exciting Dragon Boat race challenge!

Our Year 8’s took part in some fun activities at the Herts Young Mariners – from climbing to…

paddle boarding, as well as…

some cycling…

to our Year 7’s preparing the chicken shed with wood chips at Lambourne End…

and finally, our Year 7’s going down to Cody Dock where they:
– planted bulbs in the community woodland
– learned about how important nature is
– talked about the positive effects on our planet if we look after our local bits of nature
– helped lay a bark path
– designed signs to go in the woodland at Cody Dock!

Fabulous work!
