Forest Futures – Law

Always wondered what the difference is between a Barrister and a Solicitor? Do you need a law degree to have a legal career?

These questions and others were answered as Forest Futures continued its successful programme with its Law event on Saturday 3rd February. Barristers Paul Hynes QC (Copeland’s 1973-82) and parent Stephen Reeder QC were joined by School Governor Judge William Kennedy, Derek Inkpin (Johnians 1961-68) Partner at Wiseman Lee, solicitor Pranav Bhanot (Doctor’s 1995-2006) and Head of Business BBC Films and lawyer, Geraldine Atlee (Park, 1979-86). Our experts ran workshops throughout the morning for over 60 pupils from Forest School and our outreach partner schools, covering routes into law, what is needed to get a top training place and looking at the diversity of the profession.

Our next Futures will be Medicine, followed by Business and Finance, and Marketing and Media in the Michaelmas term. For more information, or if you would like to join our faculty for these events, please email sgautama@forest.org.uk.
