Ann Tyrrell the Latest Old Forester

Meet our latest Old Forester

Ann Tyrrell, stalwart and unofficial “mum” of the 6th Form café has just joined the 7,000+ that make up our Old Foresters. Ann started at the School in November 1997, initially as a plate washer and Dining Hall cleaner (she says this is how she met the pupil who is now her GP, Old Forester Dr Johal – he used to help her clear up!). Ann soon moved to the main Tuck Shop where she started building her relationship with the 6th Formers by serving them breakfast. When the new 6th Form café was opened 4 years ago, Ann took over the helm.

Ann has seen a lot of changes in 20 years, however it was her first Christmas at Forest School that still stands out to this day. Her mum had passed away the year before, but Ann says walking into the Dining Hall and seeing the tree lit up and all the pre-Prep and Prep School pupils singing made what was an emotional day, a fantastic one.
