Year Six pupils visit Forest Dene Care Home

The project is run by the Phakama Group, which aims to bring generations together through fun and interactive workshops.

During the morning, pupils rehearsed ‘music hall’ songs and created greeting cards to be given to the residents later that day.

Year Six pupil Marnie said: “We learnt new songs and we were learning and singing along together,” while Shivam added, “I had a fun-filled day, meeting lovely new people.”

Following the morning visit, pupils handed out their cards and chatted to residents before performing their songs.

During the performance some of the residents took to their feet, while others played instruments and sang along.
