The School was delighted to welcome the founder and chief executive of Mumsnet, Justine Roberts, to Forest on Thursday 3 December, as the keynote speaker at the School’s Key Stakeholder Conference.

Justine spoke in detail about her experiences of the best (and worst) parent communications practice she had come across in the 15 years since launching Mumsnet. During her talk, she also answered concerns about dealing with criticism and negative comments posted on social media sites.

Mumsnet generates over 70 million page views and over 14 million visits per month and is considered so influential that the 2010 UK general election was dubbed “the Mumsnet election”.

Justine Roberts was named in the MediaGuardian Power 100 list in 2010 and placed seventh in the 2013 BBC Woman’s Hour Power List.

Speaking alongside Justine were the School’s Deputy Warden, Mr Cliff Hodges, and the Head of Communications, Mr Pramanik, who both discussed the importance of engaging with the parent body.
