Scholars’ Recital Evening

Forest School’s music scholars and exhibition holders showcased their musical talent at the annual Recital Evening on Tuesday 17 May.

The early evening concert, which is held in the School’s Dining Hall, involves scholars and exhibition holders in years 7-9 performing solo pieces as well performances as part of an ensemble.

Highlights from the evening included: Handel’s Trumpet Concerto 3rd movement which featured Trudy Schofield (Y7) on the trumpet; Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni with Allegra Evans (Y9) on violin; and Sibelius’ stunning Andante Festivo.

The Head of Music, Mr McGregor said: “Every single pupil did a sterling job at the concert with performances on flute, French horn, voice, violin, clarinet, oboe, veena, double bass and harp.”
