Quilliam visit Forest for the latest Look Out lecture

The speakers covered a variety of topics including citizenship and identity in an ever-changing society and how the media can play a greater role in preventing extreme views.

Forest’s Diploma Coordinator, Mr Burnside, said: “It seems that barely a day goes past at the moment without the media reporting on another case of radicalisation, or the government’s attempts to deal with this serious contemporary issue.”

“Quillam’s visit provoked much interesting debate amongst the discussion groups, which fed into an excellent Q&A session at the end of the lecture.”

The Look Out lectures are a series of talks to Sixth Form pupils encouraging them to think and engage in a variety of topics. Recent lectures have included talks by former sportsman Alastair Hignell and Middle East expert Diana Darke.
