Forest School’s Year 6 Maths Day

The pupils took part in rich mathematical investigations and challenges, experiencing first-hand the complex concepts of generalisation, cycles, iteration, infinity, and the downright absurd.

The afternoon involved a number of engaging activities and games, all requiring logical and creative thinking and going well beyond normal classroom work.

Forest Sixth Formers helped the pupils with each activity, asking incisive questions to keep the pupils on their toes. The pupils left buzzing with ideas and, it seemed, greater enthusiasm for studying mathematics.
