Forest School’s public speaking team have made it through to the London final of the Churchill Public Speaking Competition, following a tremendous win in the regional rounds

The competition, which took place at Robert Clark School in Dagenham, saw the talented speakers compete against four other schools.

Joshua took home the prize for ‘Best Questioner’ while Temi received outstanding feedback for her speech on religious extremism.

Forest’s Teacher of English, Mr Barlow, said: “All three pupils were brilliant at the competition, I’m very proud of them.”

The three pupils will now take part in the London final on Tuesday 15 March at the English-Speaking Union’s headquarters in Mayfair, where they hope to secure a place at the UK grand final in April.

The prestigious Churchill Public Speaking Competition runs during the academic year, beginning in the autumn with the initial rounds, leading to the final in April.
