Forest School’s Primary and Preparatory School’s Swimming Gala 2016

The Gala, which is attended by 13 local schools, involves over 75 pupils in competitive swimming challenges including the breaststroke, butterfly, front crawl and freestyle races.

Forest pupil Viola, Year Six, won the individual girls’ 25m front crawl, with a brilliant time of 17.54 seconds, while Shivam, also in Year Six, won the same race for the boys with 18.50 seconds.

Both Sam, Year Six, and Kaitlin, Year Five, finished second in the 50m freestyle race with commendable times of 36.85 seconds and 36.58 seconds respectively.

Head of Preparatory School Boys’ Sport, Mr Arnold, who arranged the Gala, said: “The boys and girls fully deserve the success as they have worked very hard in the run-up to the gala.”

“It’s great to see so many local schools take part in the event and to see so many talented swimmers.”

Pupils from Oaklands School, St Aubyn’s, Woodford Green Prep, St Paul’s Cathedral School, Daiglen, Snaresbrook Prep, Theydon Bois, Canonbury, Bancroft’s, Loyola Prep, Woodford Wells and Avon House took part in the Gala.
