Forest receives a tweet from space
British astronaut Tim Peake tweeted the School after reading Y1 pupil Wren Anderson’s poem about the ‘seeds from space’ project.
Tweeting from the International Space Station Mr Peake wrote: “Poetry, aliens, science, education and gardening. Lovely!”
Wren, five, had written the poem for the astronaut as part of class show and tell. The Pre-Preparatory School class are currently taking part in the UK Space Agency’s and RHS’ joint ‘Campaign for School Gardening’ project, which has involved pupils growing two sets of rocket seeds, one set of which has been to space.
Speaking after receiving the tweet, teacher Miss Hopkin said: “It was brilliant to receive the tweet about the poem and all the pupils were excited to know Tim Peake is following their seeds from space project, and tweeting them all the way from the International Space Station.”
