Forest girls attend STEM event
The Accenture supported event showcased the achievements of the many successful women already in STEM industries. 16 girls from Forest took part in the workshops in London which was one of five events taking place across the country on the same day, hosting 1,800 girls aged 11-15.
During the day, the girls took part in coding workshops and heard from inspirational speakers including BBC Trending Editor, Anne-Marie Tomchak, and Minister for Women and Equalities, Caroline Dinenage MP.
Speaking about the day, Year 10 pupil Clementine said: “It was an eye-opening experience and showed us how much STEM jobs are accessible to us, and how much we are needed by the companies”.
She added: “It was a great day and an excellent opportunity for all of us.”
