Bank of England Y12 trip

Sixth formers currently studying Economics A’ level enjoyed a trip to the Bank of England last week.

The trip was organised to further develop pupil’s knowledge of the UK’s monetary policy and to learn about the history of the landmark institution in the heart of the City of London.

The students took part in a Bank of England quiz covering topics about printing money and the features of bank notes. They clearly listened before the quiz; as they came out winners.

Presentations were also made on how the bank decides the interest rate for the UK economy and why the target inflation rate is set at 2%.

Our students found the trip insightful and were more than delighted to walk away with a prestigious Bank of England Museum Pen!
