Record Top Grades at GCSE for Forest Pupils

Forest’s Year 11 pupils are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results in 2025, marking a proud moment for both families and teachers. Their achievements reflect both individual dedication and the collective strength of the Forest community.

The GCSE headlines are:

  • 32% of all grades were awarded at the top Grade 9, the highest ever at Forest
  • 58% of all grades were awarded Grade 9 or 8
  • 78% of all grades were at Grade 9–7
  • From a large cohort of 150 pupils, the most common grade achieved was Grade 9, and 39 pupils achieved straight Grade 7s and above

This year’s exceptional GCSE results build on the success of last week’s A-level achievements, where our outgoing Class of 2025 secured places on a wide range of competitive courses at leading universities and prestigious apprenticeships. Foresters will be joining universities across the UK, including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Durham, Imperial, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, King’s College London, and Loughborough. In addition, some students have earned highly sought-after apprenticeship opportunities with organisations such as Aviva Insurance and BAE Systems.

Claire Tao, Forest’s new Warden, who took up her post this week, commented:
“These results are a remarkable reflection of our pupils’ determination and commitment. Each grade represents not only hours of hard work but also the creativity, resilience, and spirit that make Forest such a distinctive community.

“It is a privilege to join Forest at such a celebratory moment, and I could not be prouder of our Year 11s. They have excelled academically while also contributing richly to every aspect of school life. I am especially looking forward to seeing many of them continue to flourish in the Sixth Form, where they will build on these successes and be supported to achieve even more.”
