Y9 Forest Girls Selected To Present At The Wings Of Hope Achievement Awards Semi-Final At Portcullis House

On Thursday 3rd May WOHAA a team of five Forest Y9 presented at the Wings of Hope Achievement Award semi-final at Portcullis House.

Forest’s ‘Team Action’ consisted of the following Y9 girls who were amongst the youngest to reach the semi-finals: Zaynah Islam, Yasmin Herron-Isa, Angharad Stables, Ava Canteenwala, Kaia Michel.  Twenty-four teams were selected from hundreds of entries to give a five minute presentation plus a question and answer session on their fundraising achievements to a panel of judges.  This year the judges were Professor Lod Bhikhu Parekh life peer and Professor of Economics and Anna Berry, Head of Buying Gifts/Cook and Dine at John Lewis Partnership.

The next stage of the competition is a gala dinner where winners across five categories will be announced and the overall winning team will be given the chance to participate in WOHAA’s work in India. All the winning teams will be given the opportunity of work experience with the charity’s corporate partners.
