Prep pupils take part in Waltham Forest's spring clean

Prep School pupils took part in Waltham Forest’s spring clean on Friday 17 March.

The spring clean, organised by Waltham Forest Council, is to encourage people to help make their neighbourhoods cleaner and tidier.

Pupils from reception to year six all got involved by taking part in litter picks around the school grounds and outside in the local area.

This included reception venturing into the forest, year one cleaning the front of School and year three covering Johnians field.

The annual spring clean has been taking place since 2011 and in the last six years over 10,000 volunteers have rolled up their sleeves helping to keep their communities tidy.

Speaking about the event, Prep School teacher Ms Lee Gordon said: ‘It was a great success and all the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the spring clean.’

Last year, to mark The Queen’s 90th birthday Forest pupils took part in Clean for the Queen which was organised by Keep Britain Tidy to celebrate the occasion.
