Prep School pupil to run London Marathon
Prep School pupil Nathan Wright, 6B, will be running in this Sunday’s U13s London Marathon.
Nathan, 11, successfully qualified for the race after running 5km in a staggering 20.01 minutes at the Valentine’s Park Run in Redbridge.
Speaking about the race, Nathan said: ‘I’m really looking forward to taking part in the London Marathon. Hopefully it will be nice weather for the race and crowds.’
The course is three miles long, and stretches from London’s Old Billingsgate to The Mall. Nathan is in good company as previous winners of the mini marathon include double London 2012 Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah and 2012 Paralympics silver medallist Shelly Woods.
Prep School teacher Mrs Clark, added: ‘Well done Nathan, it is a fantastic achievement and you are an inspiration to all of us. For those of us who profess to be runners, I am sure you will agree with me that most of us would struggle to run that distance in such a time.’
The U13’s mini marathon will start at 9.09am on Sunday and Nathan will be proudly wearing a Redbridge vest.
Good luck Nathan!
