PDSA Veterinary Nurse visits Forest
As part of the Tuesday activity afternoon Year one and Year two have been working towards their PDSA Pet Club silver certificate. The pupils have been classifying animals, learning about working animals, how to stay safe around animals but also how to keep animals safe. This week, the Foresters were lucky enough to have a special visit from a veterinary nurse, Melissa, from the charity, the PDSA.
Speaking about the event, Year one teacher Ms Kirstie Hopkin said: ‘We learned a bit more about the charity and the five welfare needs of animals. Florence from Year two even got to dress up as a vet nurse and hear her own heartbeat with the stethoscope!
‘This year is the centenary of the charity and more children will be earning their silver certificate next term. I was very impressed by the children’s knowledge and listening so a big thank you to them and Melissa for coming to speak to us.’
