Forester wins London mini marathon

Tom Archer, Year 10, yesterday won the London Mini Marathon in the U15 age category.

He achieved an outstanding time of 15.08 minutes for the 3 mile (5 km) race.

The London Mini Marathon is the official British Athletics three-mile road championships for young athletes aged between 11 and 17. The course stretches from London’s Old Billingsgate to The Mall. The event draws entrants from the nine regions of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, and includes teams from all 33 London Boroughs. A previous winner of the Mini London Marathon was four-time Olympic Games gold medallist Mo Farah.

Congratulations Tom; and congratulations to all our Forest pupils who ran in the race. There might have been one or two in teachers in the main event too! Well done to all.
