Forest Athletics
Forest School pupils have been reaping the benefits of a fruitful winter programme of training.
A new partnership between Forest School and England Athletics gave some pupils the opportunity to participate in the inaugural ‘World Class Triple Jump Project’. This ultimately led to Elise Olrik-Small and Otis Bakker being selected to train with elite triple jump coach John Herbert as part of the team GB talent pathway. A phenomenal opportunity which we look forward to seeing develop.
There has been great success on the track with some of our local club runners. Abigail Reid has broken the championship record for the 800m at the recent Eastern County Championships. Her time of 2.27 is the second fastest time in the country for her age group, a fantastic achievement. In the same race, our prep school runner Isabelle Kyson came in at third place, remarkable given that she is three years below the top age group.
The future certainly looks bright for our talented crop of athletes.
