French Language Assistant – Fixed Term (1 Year)

The Forest French Department is looking to appoint a talented and committed French Language Assistant who is passionate about French and dedicated to raising student outcomes.

This is a part-time post, consisting of circa 20 hours per week, over four days, and will involve leading individual and group conversation classes at A Level (Upper and Lower Sixth Form) and GCSE, working closely with students to help develop their language skills, knowledge, cultural capital, and fluency. Languages are enshrined at Forest and French has significant uptake at GCSE and A Level. The successful applicant, therefore, will play a crucial role and work closely with the Head of French to secure excellent outcomes for all.

We welcome applications from candidates who are fluent in French and with a university education or equivalent experience. Applicants with experience of MFL teaching and / or of examination board work in Modern Languages would be particularly welcomed.

Introduction to Forest School

Surrounded by ancient forest and only thirty minutes from central London, Forest School is an outstanding independent day school located on the edge of Epping Forest. Forest is a large, diverse, and vibrant school, with approximately 1,500 pupils from 4 to 18. Our traditional House structure means that each pupil is treated as an individual, of whom we have the highest expectations, while our size enables us to offer breadth and depth of opportunity. Foresters are ‘known, liked and valued’ and this is central to our educational philosophy.
