Rutter’s Requiem at St James’s Church
A very special musical event will be happening at the end of term. At 7.30pm on Thursday 23 March, Forest School’s Music Department will present a concert of Orchestral and Choral Music at St James’s Church, Piccadilly.
This exciting public concert in the stunning church of St James’s will feature music from the Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, Senior Chapel Choir, Boys’ and Girls’ Chapel Choirs and the Forest School Choral Society.
The concert will commence with Beethoven’s mighty Coriolan Overture, and continue with a performance of the first movement of Schumann’s Piano Concerto Op.54 with Raphael, Y13, at the piano. The Chamber Orchestra will present a movement of Elgar’s luscious Serenade and accompany cellist Ruari, Y12, in a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s Andante Cantabile (1888).
The Boys’ and Girls’ Chapel Choirs will sing Salieri’s De Profundis and the concert will conclude with the intensely evocative Rutter Requiem for orchestra and chorus, featuring Priyasha, Y11, as soprano soloist.
Tickets are available directly from Forest School Reception priced at £10 each (£6 concessions for over 60’s and under 16’s).
Please call 020 8520 1744 to purchase tickets. There are only 350 tickets available and none will be available on the door; tickets should be collected in advance from Reception.
