“Plastic Classics” Day Conference
We are delighted to announce the first Forest School “Plastic Classics” Day Conference on Thursday, 8th February, 2018.
We believe that Classics is up-to-date, flexible, and useful for everything – mould it to your needs!
In our first edition of Plastic Classics we hope to attract a wide range of 6th formers:-
- come if you are doing Latin and Greek and would like to be stretched,
- come if you do Classical Civilisation and want to learn more,
- come if you have never even heard of the Greeks and Romans but wish you had!
The day will start at 10.00 (doors open 9.30) with a talk from Nicholas Denyer (a University Senior Lecturer in Classics and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge). In between, there will be lunch (crucial) and seminars on a wide variety of topics with many not requiring any prior knowledge whatsoever, just enthusiasm! The day will close with a talk from Mia Smith, a recent Classics graduate from Oriel College, Oxford and we will say farewell at approximately 3.30pm.
To register your pupils please complete the form below, the cost is £30 per pupil and payment is required at the registration stage so a credit/debit card is required.
If you would like any further details on the seminars or speakers email Conferences@forest.org.uk.
