On Wednesday 4th March Forest School are delighted to host an event on how best to maximise your child’s sporting potential in the Deaton Theatre from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
If your child is a keen sportsperson either at school or outside of school, or part of our Forest Elite Player Programme – you and your child will want to attend this event.

Richard Shorter is the ‘Non-Perfect Dad’ (www.non-perfectdad.co.uk) and for over 20 years has been delivering parent and coach engagement strategies with England Rugby, England Hockey, England Cricket and a number of top flight professional football clubs.
Richard will share in his presentation how to help parents manage their expectations in the process of talent development; reduce any parent & coach conflict and support parents in shaping the resilience and mindset athletes need to navigate the highs and lows of life in sport
Gary and Colin Lewin from the Lewin Sports Injury Clinic will be discussing ways in which parents can help minimise the risk of injury and how to help rehabilitation in young adults. Gary Lewin & Colin Lewin have decades of experience working in the Premier League and at International level and have links to experts from all fields of medicine across London, the UK and Europe.
Anna Kessel MBE is a sports journalist, acclaimed author and vocal campaigner on equality in sport. Anna will be sharing her thoughts and experiences on how sport can and does change lives. Co-founder and chair of Women in Football (WiF), an organization lobbying against sexism in the game and championing female role models, The Independent described Anna as a “fearless adversary of sexism” in their list of the 50 Most Influential Women in Sport.

Richard Shorter:
Richard works with parents of national youth teams for England Rugby, England Hockey and Cricket and professional sports teams such as Manchester United and Saracens in supporting parents to nurture success and potential in their children.
Gary and Colin Lewin:
Gary and Colin Lewin opened the Lewin Clinic in Hainault Essex in October 2019. They bring together under one roof decades of experience working within both the Premier League and England’s National team.
Anna Kessel MBE:
Anna is a British sports writer and ‘Women’s Sport Editor’ for the Telegraph newspaper. She is co-founder and former chairperson of the UK Football charity Women in Football, which lobbies against sexism in the game. In 2016 she published her book ‘Eat, Sweat, Play: How Sport Can Change Your Life’ aimed at bringing sport to the female masses.
