EPQ Presentation Afternoon

Forest invites parents and staff to the Extended Project Qualification Presentation Afternoon on Wednesday 19 April 2017.

The Extended Project is an independent research project which allows students to go far beyond the curriculum and carry out an in-depth investigation into a topic area that they feel passionate about. At the end of the process the students are required to give a presentation of their findings to a small audience and answer any questions. To show the diversity of the topics covered a very small selection of the titles being explored include:

  • How is Brexit affecting small businesses in the United Kingdom?
  • Is the media justified for the negative coverage of statin, thus leading to a decline in its use?
  • To what extent is ‘obedience to authority’ a significant factor in understanding why the German perpetrators engaged in the acts of the Holocaust?
  • Can we successfully design and release a 2D Multiplayer Capture The Flag Game that is easy to use, performs well and is well received by the general public?

Year 12 students have put a great deal of time and work into their projects and as they reach the end of their projects we hope that this will be a superb opportunity for them to showcase all of their excellent research and celebrate their achievements.

The presentations will take place between 2.00pm and 5.00pm in various classrooms throughout the School; however, attendance for the full duration of the afternoon is not required. The afternoon will be split into two halves with the first set of presentations taking place between 2.00pm and 3.15pm. There will then be a drinks reception in the Dining Hall, followed by the second set of presentations between 3.45pm and 5.00pm.

If you would like to attend the event, please confirm here.
