Easter playwriting and acting project
Forest School will be holding an Easter holiday playwriting and acting project for pupils in years 9 and 10.
During project, which will take place each day Monday 27 – Friday 31 March, 10.00am – 3.30pm, pupils will devise and write a minimum of 3 short plays around the theme of gender.
On the first day, participants will have separate workshops: writers will be introduced to playwriting and actors will develop performing skills.
The next three days will be a mix of separate and joint sessions to generate, develop and define material of the short plays. On the last day, there will be final honing of the pieces, formal rehearsals and a reading of the short plays to an audience.
When signing up, please specify if you would like to participate as a Writer or as an Actor.
Writers will experience the genesis of a play text, its development through devising work done by the actors and the rehearsal process, in which writers also contribute as directors of their own piece.
Actors will explore and develop acting skills; be part of the creative process of generating a play through devising and working with a writer, and experience the demands of a professionally rehearsed reading.
The course is £150.00 for the five days.
