Early Keyboard Festival

Forest School is delighted to host an Early Keyboard Festival in the Chapel on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd June.

A programme of workshops, masterclasses and a concert will be run by Gary Branch and Steven Devine, both leading performers and scholars in early keyboard music. In association with Finchcocks Charity, they are bringing a Broadwood 1823 grand piano and a Longman & Brodrip square piano, as well as a Heilmann fortepiano, spinet and clavichord. This is a rare opportunity to listen to and play these instruments.

On Friday selected piano students from Forest will be given demonstrations, lectures, and the chance to play Baroque and Classical repertoire on the five early keyboards, and on Saturday morning there are workshops open to the public. A masterclass will take place on Saturday afternoon, and you are welcome to attend the concert on Saturday evening at 6pm. Tickets cost £15 for the concert; all other events are free of charge.
