The motto of Poole’s house is “If we can, we will”. We take our name from a former pupil, F.J. Poole, who is known for being one of Forest’s most well-rounded pupils. During his time here in the 1860s, he worked hard, got involved and excelled in all that he did: academic studies, sports, music, drama, art and everything in between.

Taking inspiration from him, Poole’s boys are busy, visible and always willing to get stuck in. We make the most of the many opportunities here at Forest and celebrate the achievements of everyone, whatever their interests. We have a strong family spirit and are proudly porphyrogenitus (‘born to the purple’), as represented by the colour of our house tie we so proudly wear.
