China

In the Autumn of 2017 Forest school made connections with the Aurora Foreign Language Middle School in Shanghai, which is a small local school teaching around 400 pupils in central Shanghai.  Their principal and his colleague visited Forest in May 2018, and the visit was returned by our Warden, Director of Outreach, and Head of Mandarin in November. This cemented our link and in June 2019 we welcomed our first exchange students from China.

Forest is proud to teach Mandarin right through our school from Prep into the Senior school and as part of Spreading our Wings we want our students to become global citizens who see and understand their role in the world.

Unfortunately, our first exchange group to China was unable to visit in March 2020 due to the global travel restrictions and dangers posed by Covid 19, we hope to visit our partner school soon and look forward to welcoming them here again too.
