Best Ever GCSE Results at Forest School

Hard on the heels of record-breaking A Level results, Year 11 have posted Forest’s best ever GCSE results!

Remember that soaring grade inflation at a national (not Forest!) level has required the government to commit to deliberately depressing grades, so this year’s results have seen fewer top grades awarded in the UK as a whole. So, all the more reason to applaud the outstanding achievement of our pupils which bucks the national trend.  The fact that Forest pupils did so magnificently is, of course, a huge credit to the pupils themselves, particularly as a cohort of 180 which faced disruption, uncertainty and the adaptation to a whole new way of online learning during Covid, but there is also no doubt that their success would not have been possible without the dedication, sheer hard work and professionalism of the Forest staff.

  • 86% of Forest grades were awarded at Grades 9/8/7 (this is equivalent to the old A* and A, whilst the Grade 9 represents achievement at a level above an A*)
  • Grade 9 (A**) was the most common grade awarded to Forest pupils

19 pupils achieved straight 9’s across all their subjects.
